I guess he decided to brand it

I don't think I'm ever going to get my heart back from Joe McIntyre. He just keeps stealing bigger and bigger pieces all the time.

The other day one of my friends approached me asking for help with a project. She wanted to make a special collage for Joe. I suggested that she use picasa, and then I helped her get the word out about what she wanted to do. Her idea was to make a collage using our individual photos with Joe. It took a few days, but eventually she had over 100 pictures, and she was ready to make the collage. She wasn't all that familiar with picasa, so I gave her a few tips and suggestions along the way. She worked REALLY hard actually sizing and placing each picture by hand, and when she was finished she sent me a copy to preview. I loved it! So did the rest of the girls who had taken part, and pretty soon we were all helping to try to make sure that Joe would see it.

A few days later her hard work was rewarded when Joe announced that he loved the collage and was now following her on twitter. I had been in the middle of getting ready for bed when he tweeted, and I actually missed the tweet when it happened. I caught it a few minutes later and got back on to congratulate Lisa, and thank Joe. I was pretty tired, and there was a long pause between tweets while Joe was scoping out backgrounds (I think) and trying to figure out how to change his own background to Lisa's collage. She had named the collage "One Brother and a Million Sisters" after his song, and right as I was saying good night (AGAIN) Joe tweeted about the title and said he was getting all misty. I was so excited for Lisa, but I knew that I really needed to get some sleep and I was in the process of saying so, when my tweetdeck refreshed and I saw a tweet that woke me right up...

Wait! Did he just say "EG"?! OMG he DID! AHHHHHHH!!!! How friggin' cool! You go ahead and brand it baby!

I was typing a tweet telling him that he was probably going to have to explain what the hell he was talking about when another tweet popped up and just about gave me a heart attack...

and then another...

Holy crap! Joe effing McIntyre just put me on blast to the entire twitterverse? (Or at least the nearly 63k people that follow him). SERIOUSLY?!

I mean, I knew that he was flattered and all, but it's been over a month since it happened...and quite honestly when he gave me that fleeting hug at the after party, he really gave no indication that he thought anything of everything that had happened during the show. I kinda figured that he just thought I was a total spaz.

I guess at the very least I can assume that he finds me entertaining.

I have no idea if I'll ever be fortunate enough to speak to him face to face again, but I can promise you if I do he's getting the stuffing squeezed out of him.

EG indeed. xoxoxo

The dream continues...

I can't even believe that I am about to write what I am about to write.
This can't possibly be my life.

Roughly 21 years ago, I was sitting in my living room with my little sister watching tv. I was flipping through channels when something caught my attention. It was this really cute group of boys singing and dancing on this show on Nickelodeon that I sometimes watched. I stopped flipping and became transfixed. This is what I saw...

I fell instantly in love with the adorable boy with the insanely blue eyes. There was just something about him that couldn't be denied.
I lost track of them for a little while, and then a few months later all of the sudden everyone was talking about this new group who were touring with Tiffany (I had just seen her a few months prior...my 1st concert). I knew right away that it was the same group and I was so excited to have the opportunity to get to hear them again!

That's how it all began...my adventures as a Blockhead. I wish I could share my diary pages so that you could see just how crazy in love I was with those boys (ahem...that BOY), but I'm afraid that someone would use it as evidence to have me committed. I have the same stories as most of my fellow Blockheads...HOURS spent standing outside in all kinds of weather hoping for just a glimpse of the boys. A wave, a nod, ANYTHING. There was one moment during a concert at The Cumberland County Civic Center when I
swear Joe looked way up in the nosebleeds where I was sitting, saw me jumping up and down acting like a lunatic, laughed at me, and gave me a little wave. That was it though. That was my moment.

Then in the Winter of 2007-2008 I caught wind that they were coming back.
This blog already documents how this new round of madness went down for me. I won't rehash. Please feel free to go and peruse my archives at your leisure (key words Joe McIntyre & NKOTB should get you where you want to go).

Suffice it to say that it has been a truly amazing ride. Seeing my teenage fantasies come to life one right after another...There is just nothing that I could even think to compare it to. The coolest part by far has been connecting with hundreds of other women just like me. Deep friendships have developed...these women have helped me navigate my way through what could easily have been the worst year of my life. I am more grateful than I could ever hope to express.

After I won the UNBELIEVABLE opportunity to appear in Joe's video, I was almost expecting that I would be dealing with lots of jealousy and negativity. It never happened. NOT ONCE! Just the opposite. Every single day I am told how wonderful and deserving I am. These women lift me up when I'm feeling down and give me the energy to keep on going. It is so beautiful to be a part of.

The last few weeks we have all been on the edge of our seats waiting for Joe's "MacPac3000" to go on sale.

Well last night it finally did. It was such an exciting time! Poor Joe had just had a really rough day (His 2 yr old got his first stitches). He made a late night (for half the country at least) announcement on twitter that the MP3K's would be going on sale within the next 48 hrs. Little did he know that the link had already been activated. What happened next was truly amazing to witness. People all over the world were calling each other and texting and tweeting to make sure that their friends got online right away to get theirs. People were buying them for friends who were sleeping...etc. I jumped out of bed and snatched mine up right away. It wasn't long before Joe caught wind of what was going on (may even have been my tweet that alerted him) and joined in the festivities.

So I was sitting in the dark at my computer as my husband and daughter slept soundly a few feet away. I was shaking with excitement over my good fortune...when the unimaginable occurred. My tweetdeck refreshed, and this is what I saw...

WHAT?!?!?!
There are over 60,000 people following Joe McIntyre. He was following 22...4 of whom were "fans". Ummmm...I guess I have made an impression?

Whatever I did...Thank you Joe. From the bottom of my heart. 21 years of dreams fulfilled with that one simple message. I don't know what to say...but I'm sure I'll think of something. I always do!

What parallel universe is this?

I am truly sorry for neglecting my blog so horrendously over the last year. I've been terrible.
However, this is something that HAS to be shared...because things like this just don't happen.
Well, not to me at least.

Obviously anyone who has read my blog knows that I have a little bit of a crush on Joe McIntyre (Yeah yeah, ok...I'm obsessed. Shush)

I have been following Joe on twitter ever since he decided to hop on the bandwagon. I have been fortunate enough that he actually responded to me on a couple different occasions. The first time it happened I was in total shock. Joe McIntyre "talked" to ME? Weird.
The shock quickly faded and turned into an obsession with making it happen again. I don't know how people kept following my twitter feed...I would have run screaming! lol People did though, in increasing numbers actually. Apparently I'm kinda funny. Who knew?
Anyway- I got my responses from Joe and I was over the moon. Then I went to the Full Service show in June and Joe actually acknowledged me from the stage. WHAT?! He saw my sign, laughed at the joke, and made sure that I knew that he knew who I was (at least on some level).
I think my screams were heard in Zimbabwe.

All of that has been AMAZING. I feel like I'm 15 again. I have made a whole slew of new friends through our mutual love of this man and his friends. My level of self-confidence is the highest it has EVER been in my life. I'm feeling good. This has been a tough year for me and my family personally, but NKOTB and the Blockheads have helped me keep smiling through it all.

On 10/10 I was lucky to be a part of the Rock The Block party in Chicago hosted by The Fat Boys. ( Yes...THE Fat Boys- you know...the rap guys from the 80's? Krush Groove, Disorderlies, Wipe Out, The Twist...? Yeah- them) I got to hang out with all of my new BH friends, meeting many of them for the first time. I was also treated like a princess by the Boys themselves. Uncle Louie greeted me like family, and Prince Markie Dee actually came over and started dancing with me at the bar. These are NOT things that would ever have happened to me in the past. I would have been too shy to talk to people. I certainly would NEVER have actually strapped on a pair of roller skates! Heaven forbid I should fall down in front of people! But I DID put on roller skates (only went around 1 time because I thought I was going to kill myself, but I did it), and the dancing? Oh my gosh! What if I look stupid? But guess what- I said screw it. Who cares? and I boogied down with Prince Markie Dee! I was so proud of myself!

I've been feeling so good about all of these things. Happy and free and loving life. And then on Saturday this happened...(read from the bottom up)

WHAT?! ME? *I* am going to be invited to spend an entire day with Joe McIntyre and actually be IN his new video? I get to hear his new music before anyone else?! NO FRIGGING WAY!
Not that there weren't a few tiny issues with this. I had about 5 minutes to figure out how I was going to get time off work and get my rear end to Burbank, CA by Wednesday. Oh- and I can't give it away yet- but the wardrobe instructions? About as far from my regular wardrobe as it gets.
BUT...I figured it out and I am GOING! That's right people! Tomorrow morning I will be hugging Joe McIntyre...and it won't be a crazy rushed thing where there are hundreds of other people waiting for their turn. Sure- he'll be super busy shooting his video, but we have 12 hours. I'm pretty sure I'll get the opportunity to have a real conversation...instead of spitting out verbal diarrhea like "Thanks for keeping it real Joe" because I only have 20 seconds and I can't think of anything else to say.

I have no idea what wormhole I got sucked through...but I sure hope I don't stumble back into it and get sucked back the other way! This is the best universe EVER!

Stay tuned for all the fun details! I have to go...gotta go catch my plane to C A L I Fornia!
